Becoming a United States Citizen-Naturalization
Naturalization or Citizenship is the legal process by which a foreigner becomes an American Citizen upon being a legal permanent resident, living in the United State, and obeying the laws and morals of the United States of America. Once the foreigner complies with the requirement can apply to the naturalization and is tested by the United State Government.
Naturalization test overview-ability to read and understand English-reading test: you must be able to read one of 3 sentences out loud in English-writing test: you must be able to write one of 3 sentences in English-civic and history test: you must answer correctly at least 6 out of 10 civic and history questions

Special Exemptions to Citizenship or Naturalization
Some people are able to become citizens of the United States even though they might not comply with all the regular requirements. The most common exceptions are:
65/20 Rule: If you are at least 65-year-old and have been a resident living in USA for at least 20 years you will study only 20 questions for your naturalization test.
50/20 Rule: if you are at least 50-year-old a resident living in USA for at least 20 years you can have your naturalization test in your preferred language
55/15 Rule: if you are at least 55-year-old a resident living in USA for at least 15 years you can have your naturalization test in your preferred language
Medical Exception: if you have a physical or mental disability certified by your doctor you might be excepted from your naturalization test.

United States Citizenship Through The Parents
United States Citizenship at Birth. All people born in the United States is an American Citizen. However, if you’re a U.S. Citizen parent who is a USC by either birth or naturalization you may already be a citizen or may be able to apply for a Certificate of Citizenship based on their citizenship.
If you derived United States Citizenship thought your parents, then you need to get the proof of that citizenship wither by obtaining a Certificate of Citizenship or a US passport.

United States Passport
All American Citizens or National have the right to apply for a United States Passport. Depending on where you are traveling you might need a passport book or a passport card. A passport book is required for international travel by air. Even though, you can use your passport book to travel by land or by sea, your passport card allows you to travel by sea or land.
Denial of a U.S. Passport Application
Being American on its own does not guarantee that you US passport application will be granted. The United States Government can deny your passport application or renewal, among others, by:
-Owing the IRS an unpaid tax debt-Owing child support-Having a previous passport revoked-Being subject to foreign extradition-Being involved in a custody dispute if you are a minor-Receiving certain court order or declarations-Unpaid loan to the Department of State of the USA
